Kindles in the Wild – The New Boss – Penny Wylder – July 24, 2021




The first day of the new year and I still have some catching up to do on my Kindles in the Wild. Can you believe that we are still in July! Man oh man! July was a super busy month for use. This one is an add on from the rail biking excursion. The girls and I saw the signs as we drove past and decided we would stop by on our way back. I think that is about how 80% of our trips happen. We kind of go where the winds take us with no real goal in mind or maybe just one destination and then we branch out into whatever interests us.


This one is a fantastic experience for young and old. It was a little crowded for our tastes, what can I say, I was not exactly a fan of big groups of people pre COVID and now that I have had a taste of 6 ft apart it is hard to go back into busy places. You get to see the history of Turkey Hill, the process of ice cream, and along the way you can take part in free samples and even take classes to create your own flavor mix.


Try to not be too judgy as I know it doesn’t look pretty, but mine was orange and chocolate. I assure you It tastes much better than it looks. 😉 This is one of those things that you really need to enjoy at least once, so if you are in the area, I recommend making a stop. It is right off the interstate exit and easy to get in and out of.


As always, I had my trusty IPad with me and couldn’t help but pull up my current book while we were waiting in line to create our fantastic new flavors. This book was by a new to me author, but I enjoyed every minute of it. The characters were fantastic, and the storyline was easy to connect and relate to. My only complaint was that it was a super-fast read, but it also felt like it was just long enough. I would recommend this one be added to your reading pile if you are looking for something to fill a few hours.

This book was a fantastic read, and felt too short and just right at the same time. The author did an amazing job of bringing this forbidden romance to their HEA, with an instant connection and enough emotional angst to keep me enthralled until the very end. And yet there were some areas I would have loved to see her expand on, not to mention that I just loved this couple. There was just enough to whet my appetite and send me looking for more stories by this author. This book was the perfect read for a couple hours of relaxation and I can’t wait to read more.
