Are you ready to get another blast from the past with my Kindles in the Wild? This one is not too long ago as it was just in January of 2024, but we were making our way to cross country to Fort Polk with a U-Haul truck and decided to start our morning at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta that we had heard so much about. Best Decision EVER!!!!  This place is huge! There are so many exhibits and so much to see that you would need all day or several days to really see if all. We didn’t have all day, but we spent a good chunk of the morning walking around and experiencing the relaxing sounds of the deep waters.

To get our morning going, we left the U-Haul truck at our hotel and headed to the public parking garage. Come to find out there is parking at the aquarium itself, but the public parking garage is right across the street and super easy to get in and out of. We met some interesting characters on our walk across the street, but mainly because they were dressed like Eskimos and we were in shorts and short sleeves. One of the gentlemen even made the comment that we must be from the north based on our attire in the middle of January. Right you are good sir! After being in the frozen north Atlanta in January was a balmy day.

When our time was up, we were reluctant to leave, but we had to get on the road again or be on the road all night. This is one of those places that we will be visiting again, so the grandbaby and her brother can experience the joy of the waters now that she is out of her mama’s belly.

Now the book that I took on this journey is one that I have read multiple times in the past and can’t wait to read again. It is a novella of Lora Leigh’s Breed series and sometimes it just calls to me. I really enjoy this one because they are both fighting the inevitable until someone forces their hand. The author seamlessly added this short story to her series with some of our favorite characters and some new ones to fall in love with. We get to see how the Breeds have people in their corner and what it really means to them to have the support. We also get to enjoy another Christmas with the Breeds where they learn what it truly means to have a family and something to believe in.

This book is one of my absolute favorites and I think if you add it to your read pile, you will love it too. The same is true for the aquarium, if you find yourself in Atlanta with some time on your hands, I highly recommend whiling away the hours in this underwater wonderland. You will not be disappointed.

Happy reading

Official published review:

The spirit of giving

I purchased this book for the Breeds story, but I couldn’t help but fall in love with the other books along the way.

Stroke of Enticement by Nalini Singh

What’s up teach

This sly cat loves to play, luckily his human mate loves to indulge him. The author put so much detail into this short story that it felt like a full length novel. I love the growth of the characters and that we got to visit with the pack again. There were so many layers to their love story and I throughly enjoyed peeling back each one. This book was a fantastic read and I can’t wait to see what happens next with this band of playful cats.

Sweet Dreams by Linda Winstead Jones

Dreaming of a better life

This author did a fantastic job of spinning her tale! I love the characters, even the annoying tie dyed hippie who seems to have the best luck. They seemed so real and the way they quickly grew together was the perfect holiday romance. The taste of danger, the woowoo, and the past added that extra bit of spice and kept me entertained until the HEA. This was a wonderful addition to the collection and I’m looking forward to reading more by this author.

Christmas Heat by Lora Leigh

Finished with waiting

I think this is one of my favorite couples to find love in the Breeds series. I love her sweet innocence! You can feel it in her joy of a snow storm, the loss of her friends, the joy of holiday giving, and the love of her man. And what a man he is. So long in denial, but when it matters most he will never let go. I love watching these two find their HEA, and I especially enjoyed watching the traitor meet their fate. This is a fantastic holiday story and I can’t wait to read it again next year.

Lora Leigh dreams in bright, vivid images of the characters’ intent on taking over her writing life, and fights a constant battle to put them on the hard drive of her computer before they can disappear as fast as they appeared.

Lora’s family and her writing life coexist, if not in harmony, in relative peace with each other. Surrounded by a menagerie of pets, friends, and a son who keeps her quick wit engaged, Lora finds her life filled with joys, aided by her fans whose hearts remind her daily why she writes.
