This is one of my absolute favorite adventures! Unfortunately, I don’t have very many pictures, so I guess this is one of those locations you will have to just go see for yourself, as there are only two photo op areas in the museum and all other photos are prohibited. And who can blame them! The Mermaid Museum in Berlin Maryland is full of real and imagined mermaid exhibits for those looking for a little escape from reality and those who truly want to believe. From the outside the building blends in perfectly with the rest of the cute little town of Berlin, but once you head upstairs and enter the secret door….. You are thrust directly into a world of pure fantasy. As I said, you can utilize the phot ops within the museum to grow a mermaid tail or lord of your kingdom from a seashell with your oversized pearl, but you can use your imagination to take home plenty of memories.


Hindsight being 20/20, I would have made sure I was reading a mermaid story for this journey, but alas it was not to be so. That is not to say that the book I was reading was any less fun and exciting. Instead of to the bottom of the ocean, this book took us to the stars with Alien Meat Market by Lizzy Bequin. One little human finds herself in a spot of trouble only to be rescued by the most unlikely crew of men. She went from non-believer to the filling in an alien sandwich. But what was the alternative? She could have been sold to some of the less scrupulous aliens who would stifle her sassy attitude and keep her from embracing her new reality. The author starts this book at the end but quickly puts it all into perspective and draws you into the story. I think this might have been my first book written by this author, but it certainly won’t be my last.

Five terrifying purple-skinned males, all rippling muscles and growly alpha dominance. These guys have a different kind of hunger smoldering in their orange eyes.

 

They own me now, body and soul. I’m their pet, their plaything. Theirs to use, to share, to dominate as they see fit.

 

It turns out the Raksha have a problem. Their females are all gone, wiped out by a deadly plague. Their entire species is now doomed to extinction.

 

For some reason, they think I can help. And they’re about to show me how.

 

I’d say my chances of ever returning to Earth are slim to none.

 

By the time the Raksha are done with me, maybe I won’t want to.

What a fantastic abduction story! I know it seems a little odd that I would consider abduction fantastic, but the author took the leading lady on a wild ride when smokey men, er beings?, locked drew her up with her tractor beam. I enjoyed how she started the story with the ending and then quickly thrust into the upheaval of danger and the journey she made to find her HEA. The crew members were amazing! I love how each one had a distinct personality and it wasn’t lost in the finding of their mate. And I enjoyed how the author left our gal be as strong and sassy as she ever was, even after connecting with her guys. This book was a wonderful poolside story and I can’t wait to see what the author thinks up next.
