Are you ready to head on over to the Haunted Circus at the Boumi Shrine October 29th – 31st?
Let’s take a little journey into last weekend with this one with a little good in the hood. Summer and I spent the morning working on our upper body strength while helping the Shrine build the walls for the upcoming Haunted Circus. We had such a fantastic time hanging out with Mom Chris and the gang, while accumulating blisters, banged fingers and a splinter or two. You know the normal for nonbuilders who ae attempting their hands at hammering.
I wasn’t sporting a pink hammer like Mom Chris, but I was able to hold my own. Contrary to popular belief you can choke your hammer for better control, leave me alone I am only five feet and gave it my best shot, and I firmly believe that getting the nail fully sunk in just three strikes is a myth. Although I do love seeing those who profess that they can do it fail. 😊 Does that make me evil? Ahh who cares, I will be evil if I want to. 😊
I didn’t get a lot of reading done as it was nonstop working from the time the frames were built until we had to depart early for a prior engagement, but I had the perfect book queued up on my Kindle app. This book is one of my absolute favorites from the series. I just love those dark De La Cruz brothers! It is something about the barely suppressed darkness that almost makes them more beast than man, and the over-the-top alphaness that makes them almost impossible to live with. And absolutely impossible to live without for the special lady who finds the softness in their hearts. This book is another one of those ones that I just find myself drawn to over and over again.

This has to be one of my favorite books in the series! I can read it again and again and never get tired of it. It’s just something about those De La Cruz brothers. I don’t know if it’s their alpha male dominance, the sensual masculinity, the way they are completely taken with their ladies, or the way they give way to their lifemate when they don’t intend to, but they are really the perfect guys. And how about those ladies! I love Colby! She is so innocent, hides her fear and pain behind a lot of bluster, and she loves her siblings enough to give up everything she dreamed of for them. Like all the Dark books, the author brought danger right to our doorstep and then salvation wasn’t far behind. This book is a fantastic read! Whether it takes a weekend or a week this book is certainly worth reading.
