This year has been drastically different from last year. We’ve had a lot more opportunities for me to put miles on my car and my youngest to come home from university. And Easter couldn’t have happened on a better weekend. With 80+ temps, we found ourselves outside with the sunroof open as we enjoyed some family bonding.
This time we searched out the water in our own area, I know! I know! We are always doing that, but we have never been to this location before. That being said, if you haven’t been here yet, what are you waiting for!
The journey to get here is scenic, well once you get past the crazy interstate drivers, and you get to walk around the old fort enjoying the water, greenery, and creepy old buildings slowly being reclaimed by nature. The girls and I took full advantage of the day, and the photo ops. It was wonderful to get some vitamin sun straight from the source for once.
And Look! I had the perfect book on my ereader to go along for the journey. This is one of my absolute favorite characters from the series, and the star of my Strikerisms. The author worked long and hard on his book crafting the perfect combination of humor, drama, and danger. Just talking about it makes me want to download it again and start from the beginning all over again.
No matter if you go for the history or the nature, you are not going to want to pass up on an opportunity to enjoy this wonderful location. And it goes without saying that this book should have already made it to your To Be Read Folder, if it is not already there

Striker is absolutely one of my favorite operatives! He’s goofy chaos and hilarious mayhem rolled into a towering hunk of red headed gorgeousness. And now we know he’s so much more. Striker is a sharp minded alpha with a huge heart and the author gave him the perfect mate. Edee is strong enough to withstand his ADHD while showering him with the love he thinks he doesn’t deserve. With bad guys who transcend time and friends who often make you scratch your head at their rapier wit and friendly animosity the intensity is high and kept me enthralled until the HEA at the very end. I knew Striker’s story wouldn’t be easy, but it more than lived up to the hype. And I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
