Ari Lionhart is the youngest warrior in Èire Danu, yet despite his lack of years, he is trusted by the queen’s consort Brennus to act as the unit leader for every unit in the fae city. He works hard at balancing his life between being a unit warrior and being a Lionhart, and secretly fears he is failing at both. With a genius politician for a father and two older brothers that are shining examples of what it means to be a warrior and an Elder, how can he possibly try to do both with any degree of success. When their city unexpectedly faces tragedy after tragedy, and a vote of No Confidence is brought before the queen on how these things are being handled, and Ari finds himself facing his greatest fear, failure. Brie Wilson has been a Deputy Sheriff in Monroe for years. She loves the small town of her birth and the laid back atmosphere that makes it a wonderful and safe place to live. But even small towns have their own quirks and problems. Outside a few exceptions at the station, she pushes daily for her efforts to be recognized by the men on the force. Still smarting over her last break up where her ex likened her to a man, she decides the safest route is to stick to herself and never get her heart broken again. When these two selfless warriors find one another can they learn to lean on one another before the body count escalates? What does it say about them when it’s easier to face murder than the deepening feelings growing between them?

Official published review:

An unexpected hero

The plot thickens as another warrior finds his mate. I love how the characters continue to interact with each other, and the sharp inquisitive minds that are slowly unraveling the source of the danger. The author maintained the intensity we have seen throughout the series sprinkled with those moments of comic relief I have come to expect when dealing with Meryn. This book was worth every minute that I had to wait for the author to write it. Hopefully the next book won’t be too far off because with an ending like this one I just know it’s going to be amazing!

Alanea Alder started writing at a very young age, some of her first scribblings are treasured in a keepsake box and written in green marker. She started when she was still in grade school and continued on through college. A Jack of All Trades, Alanea loves to read. Her bookcase is an eclectic mess ranging from Japanese Kanji flashcards to a Microbiology study guide. Her fiction section is just as varied from the whimsical Louisa May Alcott to the steamy scenes of Laurel K Hamilton. Above all else and before she was a writer, she will always be an avid reader. She absolutely loves to hear from her readers so don’t hesitate to reach out via the contact form or on Facebook. Her promise to her readers “If you keep reading, I’ll keep writing!” Author’s Website: https://alaneaalder.com/ Author’s Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/authoralaneaalder/ Author’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alaneaalder/ Author’s Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Alanea-Alder/e/B00D80G86O Author’s Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/7076304.Alanea_Alder Author’s BookBub: https://www.bookbub.com/authors/alanea-alder
