Kindles in the Wild – Waking the Beast – Lacey Thorn – July 25, 2021

This is another one of those, Did you see that?, kind of locations. No really! We were driving from the zoo to our next location and drove past this amazing bridge, so naturally we turned around and went back to check it out. It is just so much fun being a free spirit, we find all of the good places that way.

This bridge is just off to the side of the highway, so it is on you before you realize it. Hence the need to turn around and go back, and why I put the coordinates in the location below. But it’s nice and peaceful with some great scenery. I loved getting to look at the inside of the bridge and seeing how the arches of the bridge supports contrasted with the straight lines of the covering. And it appeared to be a favorite location for picnics or just grabbing some sun and a bite to eat.

I might have been unprepared with the location of our side jaunt, but I was not unprepared with my next book choice. This book is one of my all-time favorite reads. It’s actually kind of embarrassing to admit how many times I have read it. In fact, as I write this I feel the call to add another set of dates to my goodreads profile. The characters are amazing! I love to see as they struggle to come to terms with their new reality while building a relationship to last in the process. It is fantastic to watch as they slowly grow in confidence and numbers, and how love is the thing that pushes them into the direction that they need to go. This is one book that I can’t stop recommending, or reading, so I hope you take the plunge and add it to your library.

If you are in the need to just relax and escape the hustle of life, this covered bridge is the perfect spot to take a break. Especially if you come prepared with a picnic lunch and a good book to help you while away the hours.

Happy Reading

Waking the Beast (Awakening Pride Book 1)

Published to Amazon on October 1, 2018

Author Lacey Thorn

Abby spent her life searching for a hidden pride of cat shifters and the alpha who would bring them together. She never dreamed he wouldn’t know who he was. How could the elite soldier turned bartender not realize a powerful beast living inside him? Waking up in a cell with no memory of how he got there confuses Utah. Seeing the sexy woman from the bar there with him, he fights to recall what happened. When three men with trouble written all over them show up, he knows he’s in for a fight. The torture is brutal, but with each blow, something awakens inside him. Something territorial. Something primal. Something that stares at the terrified woman and roars one word. Mine.

Official published review:

Laugh in the face of danger

This book is perfect for the reader who enjoys The Breeds series and the New Species series. There is so much action, camaraderie, love and personal growth throughout the course of this book. The author did an amazing job of developing each character and building the story with each page. I can’t wait to read the next book and I hope she will write Jess’s story. I am throughly entrenched in the outcome of each character in this book and whether they reach their HEAs.

Lacey is a hyper blonde, bouncing through life with her magical bracelets of positivity. A die-hard gamer (she refuses to call it an addiction), she resides in Oklahoma, mom to three awesome children, one demanding dog, and a crazy cat. She has a passion for life and tends to leap long before she checks for safety exits. She writes possessive, alpha heroes who demand everything from the women they love. Believing sex is an integral part of a healthy romantic relationship, she doesn’t believe in closed doors, or even confining things to the indoors. Her stories reflect her strong family ties, friendships that showcase how some family consists of those we choose, and a goofy sense of humor that helps keep her laughing through all life’s ups and downs. She loves to chat with anyone and often does to the annoyance of her children who are always in a hurry. If you want to talk books, television, movies, actors, World of Warcraft, prepping for the zombie apocalypse, or music (she loves music!), drop her a line at laceythorn2007@gmail.com.
