Summer and I passed a sign for this place on our way to the Ironton Rail Trail, so we decided to stop in on our way back to the house. We were not disappointed! There is a little shop, an ice cream parlor, you can pan for gold, and they even have mini golf for when you wait. The tour starts with a short video on the history of the caves and then you get to walk through the caves. Be warned, the caves are wet and steep steps, so wear sturdy, non-slip shoes and you might want a light jacket to enjoy the 50-degree temps. Oh! Beware the sinkhole in the parking lot and I hope you aren’t afraid of the dark.
