Once again, we found ourselves out at the Towson 4th of July parade to support Summer and the rest of Bethel 36, the shrine, and the Mason’s as they made their way around Towson. Luckily the lovely ladies were in the beginning of the parade, well after all of the political hopefuls, because it was HOT!
Okay not as hot as it has been this week, for a few minutes there I thought my Reef sandals were going to melt to the pavement, but hot just the same. The best part of this parade is that there are kilts and bag pipes galore. If you are looking for that Scottish fix, come on down ladies and pull up some sidewalk for next year’s parade.
We had to get there super early so the girls could line up, but fortunately I had just the book to tide me over until the marching started. I feel like I have read books by this author before, but maybe I am just dreaming and the first book in this series has been in my To Be Read folder for a while. Who knows, I am a forgetter as my girls like to say, regardless this book was fantastic. The characters captured the heart and the imagination as they made their way to the HEA. As is typical for me, I started this book in the middle of the series, but I did not feel lost. That’s not to say that I don’t have plans to go back and read the first books before continuing on, but the story just flowed and, although it has an overreaching storyline, it is truly a book that can stand on its own.
This book is a fantastic read, and I truly hope you don’t wait until the next 4th of July parade to get started reading it.

A surprise connection
This book was a phenomenal read! The author is new to me, and I started the series in the middle, but I just couldn’t help myself. The cover is eye catching and the blurb drew me right into the story. Once I got started, I just couldn’t put it down. I enjoyed the characters, and I probably should have started from the beginning to know everything that was going on, but I didn’t feel lost and the author put in enough backstory that it just worked. I really fell in love with the characters. These two have had a rough past, but they managed to get the right people in their corner, and find each other despite it all. The author kept the story moving with action and danger, and I can’t wait to see what happens next! Although I think I’m going to go back to the beginning first.
