Kindles in the Wild – Nailing the Alien – Ava Ross – August 26, 2022 – U.S. Brig Niagara

We’re going on a ship, on a giant sailing ship…..okay, we didn’t actually get any further than the pier and we only went sailing as far as our imaginations could take as we walked up the gang plank onto the wooden decking, but it was still an experience everyone should have at least once. From the moment we started walking towards the towering masts, until we had the opportunity to tread cautiously around the rigging, I was clapping my hands with glee.

But then we hoped on board and spoke to the crew. Cannons, he might have called them something else, okay he certainly did, but I didn’t write it down and now I can’t remember, were spaced around the deck, the masts and crow’s nest loomed overhead, and the sails were neatly folded and ready to deploy. I can only imagine what it must have been to step on such a ship knowing that you are going out to sea for however long and only your crewmates, mind, and nimbleness will keep you from taking a plunge in the drink, but what an imagination it is, and how amazing must that have been.

The crew did such a fantastic job of welcoming us onto this floating nod to history. I absolutely loved my first look onto a tall ship, and I can’t wait to see more as the day moves along. If you are in the Erie area, you are going to want to change your plans and head out to the water for the weekend to experience everything the festival has to offer.

Not that I got to read when I was actually on the ship, but some of those lines are rather arduous and time consuming, so what better way to pass the time then to pull out my Kindle app on my IPad mini and get in some reading time. This book is more about getting on a spaceship than a tall ship but using the written word the author was able to take me away to just as fantastic a location. I love the characters in this story, and the way they not only created a community to be proud of, but a relationship that will see the through to the end.

If you are looking for a quick escape for the weekend, then look no further. I truly believe that you are going to love watching this grouch transform into a mate to be proud of.

Happy Reading

Nailing the Alien: A grouchy/sunshine fated mate romance (Beastly Alien Boss Book 1)

Published to Amazon on August 5, 2022

Author Ava Ross

My short-term construction job with a grumpy alien boss just got complicated. Desperate to escape the clutches of the alien lizard mafia, I accept a spur-of-the-moment job offer on a distant planet. A monstrous, grumpy alien is building a new home in a distant colony, and he’s looking for an assistant. He needs me to hold his hammer. I get it. It’s a big hammer. He's a lonely barbarian brute with a gruff exterior, but I soon learn that inside he's hiding a squishy center. When he unexpectedly enters his mating frenzy, there’s no one around to handle the job . . . except me. He gives me two options—return home or stay and help him with a whole different kind of nailing . . . Nailing the Alien is Book 1 in the Beastly Alien Boss Series. Each features a brutish alien who can’t resist falling for his fated mate.

Official published review:

It’s all about perspective

The innuendos and sass run rampant in this series starter making for a steamy read that I didn’t want to put down. I absolutely loved Cora and Kreel, she’s fun and upbeat, and he’s sullen and grumpy. Together they are pretty unstoppable as they make their way to a phenomenal HEA for them and their community. I enjoyed watching them grow and how the relationship with the town changed as their feelings for each other did. The author really did a wonderful job with this book m and to think, it all started with some bad guys and the family she didn’t pick for herself. I’m looking forward to reading the next book, I’m sure it’s going to be amazing.
