We are going to take a slight detour during our Christmas filled journey to return to the spooky world of Halloween. I have heard that if you wait long enough your worlds will combine and it seems to be true. Halloween and the spooky are going to come together for me today, but I will tell you more about that later.
But for now, let’s just jump right into my October adventures. Well, it was actually longer than October since I dived into the costumes well before the fun began, but we had the best time over the last 2 weekends in October. Our nightly fun began with costume and makeup sessions and ended with fantastic food provided by some of our favorite cooks. There were screams of terror and sounds of laughter ringing through the pavilion as one and all came down to support the shrine and join in the spooky fun. Between groups, the swamp quickly became the hang out of choice, and fries from the food truck were going like hot cakes. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to spend my October with. They made it fun and did everything they could to make the Haunted House another success.
Good friends, good food, and screams of terror, what more could you ask for on a foggy October evening. If you did not get a chance to come down and enjoy the fun this year, we are going to have 3 weekends of fun next year (October 13-15, 20-22, and 27-29), and we are always on the lookout for more actors to join the troupe if you are in the neighborhood. Feel free to reach out anytime, October 2023 will be here before you know it.
During this week I enjoyed some of my favorite spooky romance books from one of my favorite authors. I actually re-read the entire series during October, but when I finally remembered to snap the KITQ picture this happened to be the one that was on my Kindle app. This series is full of snarky humor, relationship angst, and love that transcends the ages. I laugh, I cry, I rale in anger, and cheer for joy when the characters reach those phenomenal HEAs. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend picking up these books to enjoy the spooky at any time of year.

Hexing with a Chance of Tornadoes: A Paranormal Women's Fiction Romance Novel (Grimm Cove Book 2)
Published to Amazon on April 25, 2020
Author Mandy M. Roth
A storm is brewing and so is a budding romance.
Grimm Cove is teeming with supernaturals. And since I’ve known they exist for a hot minute, I’m still in a state of total shock. When I learn that I come from a long line of witches and demon slayers, the stakes (pun intended) get even higher and sharper.
These monsters aren’t make-believe. They’re out for blood.
I’m trying to decide if having the alpha of the local wolf-shifter pack nipping at my heels is an asset in this fight, or if he’s one more person I need to watch my back around. I just wish he wasn’t so sexy and didn’t smell so good. He’d be a lot easier to resist. I have enough going on in my life as it is. I really do not have time for all this fated mate crap everyone keeps telling me about. My head and heart are at war and now isn’t the time for distractions, especially since it’s painfully clear that something evil wants me dead.

Fly with the wind
What an amazing second story in this series! The author had me completely enthralled from the first page. She took the characters I loved from the first book and embellished and enhanced everything about them. I love that Dana didn’t lose any of her snark when she was connecting with her mate while wearing the bits of her enemy. This book is full of so many surprises and was that a little bit of a love connection there at the end? I really hope the author keeps this series going. I need to know what Stratton is and if he finds his mate, and Marcy needs to find someone who will love her quirkiness, and what about Jeffery’s sister. The author could keep this series going on forever and I would never get bored. I can’t wait to read the next book to see how she tops this one.
