Kindles in the Wild – Given – Elin Wyn – June 7, 2021

After such an amazing airboat tour it was now time for the part of this day trip that we ad been long anticipating. I don’t know if you guys are avid fans of Animal Planet, but ever since the debut episode of the Gator Boys, the girls and I have wanted to go and watch one of their gator shows live. It was everything we hoped for and so much more. As luck would have it, the man himself, Gator Boy Chris, was the one performing. I know! How amazing is that?

He made the show fun and entertaining, while still making it educational and showing a healthy respect for the animals. They are currently doing a lot of construction at the moment, so we got to hear the big bad gator vocalizing at everyone to stay away from his territory. We saw a comparison to Chris’s height and a gator’s tail, and oh yes ladies, those muscles are real and just as impressive in real life, just look at how easily he lugged that gator around. And those dangerous stunts we got to watch on every show, yep those are real too and only by watching it in real life can you completely experience the awe that having such courage can inspire.

This is one of those trips that I can’t wait to do again and will be telling everyone about for years to come. It certainly made the traffic experience from Vero Beach to Fort Lauderdale worth it. As with most of these kinds of shows, we had a bit of downtime between events and being in the everglades, construction aside, there was peace and quite to get in some reading time. What better book to read then this one? Davien is all alpha male and master of his own world, until he is surprised by a mere slip of a girl that captures his heart and changes his focus. The author kept the intensity high, and the book was a perfect series starter.

Both the book, the TV series, and the real-life experience are the perfect combination for a fun day in the sun. I cannot say enough what a fantastic experience Everglades Holiday Park was and would strongly encourage you to include this in your next vacation plans, as if you needed another reason to visit Florida.

Happy Reading

Author Elin Wyn

The last thing this warrior needs is a sexy thief - even if her scent drives him to madness.

Davien will do whatever it takes to get back into space. The last thing he wants is a smart-mouthed thief - even if her scent drives him wild - and she may have the clue he needs to hunt down whoever destroyed his home.

Thief Kara Shimsi has learned three lessons well - keep her head down, her fingers light, and her tithes to the syndicate paid on time.

But now a failed heist has earned her a death sentence - a one-way ticket to the toxic Waste outside the dome. Her only chance is a deal with the syndicate's most ruthless enforcer, a wolfish mountain of genetically-modified muscle named Davien.

The thought makes her body tingle with dread-or is it heat?

Caring is a liability. Desire is a commodity. And love could get you killed.

Given is the first science fiction romance novel in the Star Breed series. No cliffhangers, no cheating, HEA guaranteed!

Official published review:

Building their own pack

This book is a fantastic SciFi adventure! The pages are filled with strong female characters and the perfect guys to compliment them. The author kept the story moving with lots of danger and action while keeping the characters real and easy to connect with. These two had to fight an uphill battle, but they made it to their HEA with more room for adventure in the future. I am really looking forward to the next book to see what happened to the rest of the pack and how these two far in their brand new world. You won't want to miss this fantastic beach read.

5 stars

A GR BB

A friend handed me a tattered Georgette Heyer novel. It was Venetia, and I fell head over heels for the dialogue and tension between bright, intelligent Venetia and her charming rake.

It was like the best of the old movies I adore – To Catch a Thief, Notorious, Desk Set, His Girl Friday…

And I thought of all the great science fiction and fantasy books I love, and how on some of them the tension, the slow burn, between the characters is as much fun as the plot itself.

Science fiction and romance combine as naturally as peanut butter and jelly – or peanut butter and chocolate! The background can be as expansive as the universe, or as close as a new lunar colony settlement. Characters can be brave, adventurous, and in all sorts of trouble. I don’t think once we reach the stars our complicated lives are going to be magically solved!
