Kindles in the Wild – The Kelpie’s Redemption – Alexa Gregory – June 11, 2021

I have found with any trip tat you should always be prepared for the unexpected and be ready to adapt and overcome. That is certainly what happened and brought us here. Halfway to Miami the oil change warning took over the dash in my car, no on again off again, just full blown “Get your oil changed now” alert. I should have been expecting it since we drove 1’000 miles just to get to Florida and we have been driving around for days, but it was still a bit of a shocker.

Not to mention I used to be a mechanic (I know! Total shocker right!) and can have a little bit of OCD sometimes, so I had to get it taken care of before we headed back home on Saturday. Of course, that started a frantic search for a quick, reputable oil change place that was open at the butt crack of dawn on a Friday morning.

Luckily, I found this little joint. The guys were super friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. They made my baby’s very first oil change a wonderful experience. Summer and I didn’t even have to get out of the car as they put their perfectly coordinated oil change engine to work. And what better way to pass the time then by reading this little book.

I just love Ms Gregory’s PNR stories, they are fun and sweet and bring on the heat, and how perfect that this one is set in one of Milly Taiden’s worlds. I loved the characters and the setting! To be perfectly honest, I was so caught up in the story that I wished the oil change had lasted a little longer so I could have finished reading it right then.

If you ever need and emergency, or planned, oil change while in the Vero Beach area I would recommend the guys down at the speed lube. They will get you in and out in no time and all set up for a day of adventure. And don’t forget to bring this book along to while away the time.

Happy Reading

What was thought to be lost to history has now reappeared, and will leave death in its wake… Sorcha Ross is happy living a happy quiet life in Scotland. After centuries used as an unwilling assassin, she finally feels free of her master’s command. Until the day she wakes up on unfamiliar shores, next to the body of a drowned man. The seaweed around him confirms that he’s been killed by a kelpie… and Sorcha is the only kelpie around. Agent Fitzroy Yarrow needs to prove himself to the FPU. No one believes a naiad can harness their impulsivity enough to be a serious agent, but Fitz is determined to show them otherwise. It’s going to be an uphill challenge, though. While he’s trying to focus on a mysterious drowning case, his naiad side is captivated by glistening waters and a certain sexy red-head. But what will Fitz do when he learns that the object of his desire is hiding a secret that can compromise his position in the FPU? Can Sorcha break through centuries of mistrust and open her heart to this man who is doing everything to show her that he’s different than all the others who harmed her? Will they win the race against time to find the person controlling Sorcha before they make her kill again? This paranormal romance about a reluctant assassin and an investigation agent turned protector is part of Milly Taiden’s Federal Paranormal Unit (FPU) world.

Taking back control

What a fantastic surprise! I love reading about obscure shifters, and the author did not disappoint with the naiad and kelpie who are the stars of this book. Both characters really stole my heart as they struggled to find their place in the world amid expectations that are not their own. I really enjoyed the dad card, but what can I say? Dads are going to be dads no matter what. The author kept the story interesting and fresh with mystery behind every turn, the perfect case for the FPU. This book was a wonderful read and I can’t wait to see more by this author.
