Kindles in the Wild – A Lion’s Pride – Susan Bliler – January 26, 2022

Nothing better after a long day at work then taking a field trip with one of your coworkers. After computer updates were done and we were finished terrorizing the masses, Ms Julie and I went and picked up Summer for a late dinner at The Greene Turtle. I usually go there for their burgers but thought I would be a rebel and grab a crabby melt with fries instead. Yummy! Oh! And they have Smith Island cake slices that you can get to eat there or grab on the go. Super Yummy! My belly was happy at the end of the night.

Good food, good friend, and good family went into the making of the perfect relaxing evening. Well, and the perfect relaxing book. I didn’t get much reading done with all the laughter and eating, but this book is one of my absolute favorites by this author. I love the characters, the not quite friends to lovers romance, and the way it all unfolds. You know, it has that gentle glide that plays in your mind like it would on the silver screen making for an experience that you are loath to see end.

No matter what kind of food you enjoy, The Greene Turtle is sure to satisfy your craving. And no matter where you find yourself sitting, you are going to want to have this little beauty close at hand.

Happy Reading

Maia Major is a woman on a mission. When her neighbors at Cougar Canyon Ranch need help, Maia is determined to do what she can. It doesn’t matter to her that the Concolor Apex, Carter, has a notorious hatred of humans. It doesn’t matter to Maia that she’s the only human in the Major Bear Clan. She also doesn’t care about the bitter rivalry brewing between her brother, the Alpha of the Major Bear Clan, and Carter, the Apex of the Concolor Pride. Maia’s only concern is healing Carter’s sick animals. Carter is at a loss. Frustration and helplessness mount when the local town veterinarian is unable to help Carter’s ailing team of prized sled dogs. So when Maia Major, sister to his enemy, and skilled veterinarian, shows up on Carter’s property, he’s forced to play nice. He doesn’t like humans, and judging by her scent, Maia is one hundred percent human. Still, she’s educated and willing to lend a hand. He’ll be polite if he can, he’ll be gracious if he must, and he’ll tolerate Maia’s presence even if it kills him. Carter is wary of Maia’s true intentions but can’t ignore the fierce protective instincts the little human kicks up the moment she arrives. Determined to accept her help and then be rid of her, he steels himself against Maia’s inadvertent charm. Bonds form, ties are cemented, and when Ramsey Major comes calling his sister home, Carter will have to decide if he still hates humans enough to let Maia go.

Overcoming history

Oh my goodness! What a fantastic story! This book has all of those emotional points that cause you to live the story, where you find yourself laughing, crying and loving right along with the characters. Add to that the excitement and danger of a human in a shifter world and you have a story that will be read again and again. I really hope the author turns this into a series. I just have to know that the rest of the pride and the clan find their own HEAs.

My pack territory is in Central Montana, between Stone Crow Estates and the North Fortress. Born and raised in an untamed location that bridges the gap between rolling prairies and majestic mountain peaks, I am born to a family that also bridges the gap between cultures. My father's people boast a fiercely proud Scandinavian ancestry while my mother's tribes descend from two savagely beautiful and unique nations (White Clay and Nakoda) that inspire my Skin Walker series. I'm a huge fan of MMA, boxing, 30 Seconds to Mars, DMX, Nahko and Medicine for the People, and 21 Pilots ("...sometimes quiet is violent"). I also love to read because it encourages me to write. (I hate it when authors add that they love coffee and chocolate. Really? Who doesn't love coffee and chocolate?) Anyway, I love beer...kidding. I don't love beer, but we are engaged in a very serious relationship. (Mom, please don't call me when you read this.) Please leave feedback....well, only if it's positive. "Keep in mind that I'm an artist and I'm sensitive about my sh*t! (Erykah Badu lyrics!)
